This standard practice presents guidelines for establishing requirements to ensure proper application and performance of plant-applied single-layer fusion-bonded epoxy (FBE) coatings to the external surfaces of carbon steel pipe. It specifies methods for qualifying and controlling the quality of FBE pipe coatings, and identifies inspection and repair techniques to obtain the best applied FBE coating system. Included in this standard are several appendixes with additional information regarding FBE coatings, such as different types of testing and analysis. This standard also has several figures of examples, and tables with requiements and quality measurements. This standard is maintained by Task Group (TG) 031.
