A common problem faced on construction sites and operating plants with certain piping systems, is a lack of specialist knowledge on effective and safe setting and maintenance of piping spring supports, particularly where there is a significant temperature difference between the hot (operating) and cold (shutdown) conditions of the plant. EEMUA 200 aims to address this problem by providing data on the specification of piping supports (in particular the information required by the manufacturer), information to be recorded in the pipe support index, installation and commissioning procedures, in-service inspection and maintenance, and dynamic restraints. This publication addresses the problem. It covers the specification of piping supports – in particular the information required by the manufacturer’ the information to be recorded in the pipe support index, installation and commissioning procedures, in-service inspection and maintenance, and, as a separate section, dynamic restraints.
